This piece of furniture is more than a chair, it's also a collection of samples of 34 wooden species, from Brazil and all over the world; it's a chair one can learn about the diversity of this natural resource. The chair itself answers a question that the designer has been frequently asked in the last 35 years: Which wood is this? It's a comfortable chair that same people just sit down and some people read the names and start a conversation about wood.
Cadeira Chair by Álvaro Wolmer has been selected as an innovative representation of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Cadeira Chair was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design accolade which recognizes outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
