Resolution
Resolution is a lounge chair designed to be light in weight and simple in form. The chair is made mainly of cardboard, with foam, packing peanuts and tape. Despite the light structure, Resolution can support a person weighing at least 200 pounds. The shape was first modelled in clay, then scanned and refined with three-dimensional software. Flat parts were cut with a computer-controlled milling machine and assembled by hand. The low weight allows the chair to be carried and placed in many spaces, and the minimal form suits varied interiors.
Resolution Lounge Chair by Shaobo Liu has been recognized as an outstanding illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Resolution Lounge Chair earned the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2023. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design recognition program that rewards outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
