Solaris
Solaris is a multi-layered wall decoration made for living spaces. The design is inspired by the fictional planet described in Stanislaw Lem's novel and by the idea of a reply to the human search for life in the universe. Each layer is drawn digitally, laser cut from beech veneered MDF, painted separately and then bonded into a deep wooden relief. Sunset tones ranging from orange to navy blue follow the rhythmic sequence of the layers. Lathe-turned iroko spheres and two 45 RPM vinyl records complete the composition.
Solaris Multi Layered Wall Decor by Ismail Pehlivan has been selected as an exceptional illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Solaris Multi Layered Wall Decor earned the Iron A' Design Award in Homeware Design in 2025. The A' Decorative Items and Homeware Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition that recognizes outstanding design of tableware, lighting fixtures, cookware, decorative accessories, bathroom accessories, furniture, textiles, kitchen gadgets and more.
